Richa Chadha had filed a defamation suit for Rs 1.1 crore against actor Payal Ghosh, Kamaal R Khan (KRK) and others!
Payal Ghosh’s lawyer had then said that she would apologize, however, the actress had tweeted out saying she wouldn’t apologize.
Payal said she would not apologise to Richa for the ‘defamatory statements’ as she had apparently not wronged anyone or given a wrong statement. Payal had started off this controversy by pointing fingers at Anurag Kashyap publicly for apparent sexual misconduct.
Richa then took to Instagram to share the copy of court order. She wrote on Instagram, “WE WON! Satyamev Jayate! Grateful to the Hon. Bombay High Court for justice! The order is now in public record, freely available for all on the High Court website. Thank you for your support, next hearing (for settlement) is on the 12th as is mentioned in the order.”
As per Chadha’s court order, it is mentioned that Payal is ‘withdrawing her statements’ and will tender ‘an unconditional apology’.
Last month, Richa had posted her lawyer’s statements on the subject which read, “Our Client Ms. Richa Chadha, condemns the act of her name being unnecessarily and falsely dragged in a derogatory manner into controversies and allegations being recently raised by third parties. Though our Client believes that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all costs, there are legislations that are intended to ensure that women have an equal standing in their workplace and to ensure that they have a cordial workplace in which their dignity and self-respect is protected.”
