The crazy fun ride of ‘Badhaai Ho’ is officially getting a sequel with ‘Badhaai Do’ and the casting is absolutely fresh and power-packed!
Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar have been roped in for the second instalment. Isn’t that just a dhamakedaar jodi? This is the first time that the two have been paired together.
While the 1st film revolved around a middle-aged couple’s unexpected pregnancy, the sequel will be along different lines. As per HT, Rajkummar will essay the role of a Delhi cop, the only male cop in a mahila thana (woman police station), while Bhumi will play the role of a school PT teacher!
Written by Badhaai Ho writer Akshat Ghildial and Suman Adhikary, Badhaai Do will be helmed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni.
The sequel will go on floors in January 2021. “Toh date pakki!? Haath milao @bhumipednekar (sanitiser laga ke ⚠️), 2021 ki shuruat badhaiyon ke sath,” announced Rajkummar.
The first part had won everyone’s hearts as well as two National Film Awards: Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Supporting Actress for Surekha Sikri.
