1) Deepika Padukone Was Not the 1st choice for Veronica
Deepika Padukone gave a breakout performance as the badass, carefree ‘Veronica’. However, she was not the 1st choice.
The role was initially offered to Priyanka Chopra. But she reportedly had some doubts about the character and the role eventually went to Deepika instead.
2) Meera or Veronica
The makers offered Deepika the choice between two roles – Meera or Veronica.
But since Meera’s role was quite similar to what she played in Love Aaj Kal, Padukone opted for the challenge of essaying Veronica Malaney in Cocktail. Diana Penty ended up debuting in Bollywood as the shy Meera Ahuja.
3) Saif Stepped In Once These 2 Actors Turned It Down
Since Deepika and Imran Khan had really good onscreen chemistry in ‘Break Ke Baad’, the makers had approached Imran for the role of the casanova ‘Gautam Kapoor’.
Imran reportedly took a lot of time to read the script but rejected it. Ranbir Kapoor was also offered the flirty role but he turned it down and eventually, Saif Ali Khan stepped in as Gautam.
