Bollywood’s superstar and definitely the ladies’ heartthrob, Ranbir Kapoor is celebrating his 39th birthday today!
The actor already has a blockbuster career chart but there are certain big time films that he rejected too! Take a look at 8 of them:
1. Gully Boy
Though Zoya Akhtar was already set on wanting Ranveer Singh as the lead character in Gully Boy, she did offer Ranbir a role in the movie. Unfortunately, the actor turned it down because he did not want to play a supporting role.
2. Dil Dhadakne Do
Ranbir was also first in line to play the lead role in Dil Dhadakne Do but due to scheduling conflicts, he turned down the role of Kabir Mehra which later on went to Ranveer Singh.
3. Ram Leela
Ram Leela… the film that brought one of Bollywood’s most dynamic husband-wife duo together was also first offered to our birthday boy. Ranbir was initially offered ‘Ram Leela’ while Ranveer was to do ‘Bombay Velvet’. However, the two ended up swapping movies so while Ranveer got replaced overnight by Ranbir in Bombay Velvet – he also grabbed the lead for Ram Leela.
4. Band Baajaa Baarat
Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor have been on Bollywood’s top list for a long time now but Ranveer’s debut film was apparently going to go to the latter initially. As per Tribune India report, RK had turned down this movie as he wanted to focus on ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ with Priyanka Chopra instead.
