Alia Bhatt‘s first-ever project with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the much-awaited Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Bhansali and Bhatt, both are keen on collaborating with each other for future projects but still, Alia is not a part of the Heera Mandi series.
Alia Bhatt was offered a part in Heera Mandi but Bhansali and Bhatt mutually decided that she should not go ahead with that offer as he will be shooting yet another biggie next year, Baiju Bawra and he wants Alia to be a part of that project.
As per reports, a source says, “Bhansali’s series Heera Mandi which is meant for the streaming platform, which will be directed by his former assistant Vibhu Puri while he will supervise the project overall. Bhansali will also be shooting his next big-screen project Baiju Bawra next year. Alia had the option of doing both projects. Both Bhansali and Alia felt her presence was more important to Baiju Bawra than Heera Mandi.”
