Ahan Shetty-Tara Sutaria Starrer ‘TADAP’ Movie Review! | Instant Bollywood

Ahan Shetty-Tara Sutaria Starrer ‘TADAP’ Movie Review!

Date:

Tadap, starring Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria, is based on the 2018 Telugu thriller RX100.

This Hindi version is directed by Milan Luthria and also marks Ahan’s big Bollywood debut.

Director: Milan Luthria
Run Time: 2h 40min
Ratings: 2.5/5
Cast: Tara Sutaria, Ahan Shetty, Saurabh Shukla, Kumud Mishra

Storyline

This is not your usual love story. The scene is set in Mussoorie where a young lad who goes by the name Ishaana (Ahan Shetty) is raised by his adoptive father, who surprisingly the whole town calls ‘Daddy’ (Saurabh Shukla). The father-son duo have a political background as they’re in union with the newly elected MLA, Damodar (Kumud Mishra). What Ishaana did not expect is for the MLA to have a strikingly beautiful daughter and fall in love with her.

This is when the twists and evil turns lurk. After a groundbreaking romance, the daughter – Ramisa (Tara Sutaria), leaves Ishaana behind and weds someone else much to the latter’s surprise. His attempts to halt the marriage were futile and not too long after that, Ramisa and her new husband make their way to London. Exploding in anger and sorrow, Ishaana takes a dark road to heartbreak. But what happens when Ramisa comes back to town? That’s when the real story unfolds.

What Do We Think?

For his debut, Ahan Shetty has done a fantastic job. With a powerful voice and the body to make any girl swoon, Ahan is all set to break hearts while his own gets broken in the film. However, his character was somewhat lacking in the aggressiveness for such a storyline. Tara Sutaria, as stunning as she is, did not exactly give her best into this project from a third person’s perspective. While their chemistry seemed natural, the dialogues were unrealistically cliche.

Ahan Shetty

Milan Luthria’s direction could use a little flow. The writing of the story somewhere got lost amidst all the shouting and unnecessary beating up scenes. Exaggeration? Maybe yes, but the hard work put into this film did not go unnoticed.

Hit or Miss

Tadap will leave you gasping at certain moments but at the same time, it unfortunately does not push you into sitting still for these 2+ hours. It’s a great one time watch and we look forward to seeing more of Ahan Shetty in the future!
