Bollywood actor R Madhavan’s 16-year-old son Vedaant is already making India proud.
Vedaant is a national swimming champion and is currently preparing for Olympics 2026.
R Madhavan along with his son and wife Sarita is in Dubai right now so that Vedaant can practice for the Olympics since there are no Olympic pools in India right now.
As per reports, R Madhavan says, “The larger swimming pools in Mumbai are either closed because of Covid or out of bounds. We are here with Vedaant in Dubai where he has access to large pools. He’s working towards the Olympics, and Sarita and I are right by his side.”
It is reported that the 16-year-old swimming champion has already won 7 medals at a 47th Junior National Aquatic Championships 2021. He has bagged four silver and three bronze medals held at the Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre. He represented Maharashtra at the competition and won silver in 800m freestyle swimming, 1500 freestyle swimming, 4×100 freestyle relay, and 4×200 freestyle relay events. He won bronze medals in 100m freestyle swimming, 200m freestyle swimming, and 400m freestyle swimming events.
On being asked if R Madhavan wanted his son to become an actor, he says, “Never! My wife Sarita and I went along with whatever our son wanted to do in his life. He’s been winning swimming championships all across the world and making us very proud.”
The actor also gave advice to all the star parents, “Let your child fly freely. Don’t stop him or her from pursuing any career. I’ve no regrets about Vedaant choosing not to be an actor. His chosen vocation is far more important to me than my own career. I’ll do what it takes to take him where he wants to go in life.”
