Akshay Kumar seems to be on a spree of signing back-to-back movies.
The actor will reportedly headline yet another real-life hero’s biopic, tentatively titled – Capsule Gill.
Akshay Kumar Upcoming Biopic Movie – Capsule Gill
If this Peeping Moon report is to be believed, Akshay will play the titular role of former chief mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill in his next. The biopic will be bankrolled by Pooja Entertainment and Kyta Productions.
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai (Rustom fame), the Akshay Kumar-starrer is based on the horrific 1989 Raniganj coal mine disaster.
Who Is JS Gill?
Jaswant Singh Gill – the real-life superhero – was an Amritsar-based chief mining engineer who saved 65 miners trapped inside a flooded coal mine in Raniganj of West Bengal in 1989.
In 1991, Gill was awarded “Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak” by President Ramaswamy Venkataraman. JS Gill had passed away on November 26, 2019.
Reportedly, Capsule Gill is scheduled to go on floors in Amritsar after June this year.
As the report further suggests, Ajay Devgn was previously supposed to headline this Tinu Suresh Desai directorial. However, the project didn’t take off due to alleged creative differences between the two.
