The SSR (Sushant Singh Rajput) death case has hit the headlines again.
The late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was recently named in a chargesheet filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
What Sections Rhea Chakraborty Is Charged Under?
She, along with her brother Showik, was charged with purchasing and allegedly financing a small quantity of marijuana.
As per Quint report, NCB have charged Rhea Chakraborty under Section 8(c), Sections 20(b)(ii)(A), 27, 28 and 29 of the NDPS Act. These sections cover – purchase of small quantities of drugs and conspiracy/abetment for their consumption.
But Bombay High Court Had Previously Said Section 27A Didn’t Apply to Rhea?
The agency has, in addition, claimed under section 27A, that she has allegedly ‘financed’ drug traffic. While punishment for purchasing small quantity is 1-year jail, punishment for ‘financing drugs’ comes with a 10-year jail term.
However, previously when the Bombay High court had granted bail to Rhea, it had said that the 27A charge of ‘financing’ drugs didn’t apply to the actress.
SSR Sister Priyanka Singh Comments –
Ever since the news hit the headlines again, the speculation around the SSR case has awakened. Speaking to the media, Sushant’s sister Priyanka Singh claimed that he had not hanged himself.
“I am a criminal lawyer myself and I have dealt with cases of dowry suicides and other horrible deaths-the eyes bulge out, the tongue comes out and there is a discharge from the body in such cases, my brother had no such thing. I entered the room after a few days. I looked up at the ceiling and realised he couldn’t have done it. I saw the place where they say he was found hanging. But, the distance between the bed and the fan was not even Sushant’s height. There’s no distance,” said Priyanka.
The sister also claimed that Sushant’s height was changed from 6 ft 183 cm to 5.10 or less.
