Giving a tagda competition to Amazon Studios and Netflix, Jio Studios (media and content arm of Reliance Industries Limited) announced its upcoming movies and web series line-up!
Highly Anticipated Movies Like –
Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 will release in theatres on August 31, 2024, while Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 will hit the screens in 2025. Shahid Kapoor’s Bloody Daddy is releasing on 9 June 2023 on Jio Cinema app. It is giving the Internet some major ‘John Wick’ vibes.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki releases on 22nd December 2023. Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s robot rom-com was also included in the line-up, it is scheduled for an October 2023 release.
Other movies that were unveiled were – Amitabh Bachchan’s courtroom drama Section 84, R Madhavan’s Hisaab Barabar, and Vicky Kaushal-Sara Ali Khan’s rom-com Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
The line-up also included Blackout featuring Vikrant Massey, Mouni Roy, South Superstar Vijay Sethupathi’s Hindi movie Mumbaikar, The Storyteller with Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain, Dhoom Dhaam starring Pratik Gandhi and Yami Gautam, and Taapsee Pannu-Arvind Swamy’s Empire.
Under Web Series We Have-
Prakash Kha’s political thriller Laal Batti, starring Nana Patekar and Sanjay Kapoor. Randeep Hooda-Urvashi Rautela’s Inspector Avinash, Rapper Raftaar’s OTT debut with Bajao, and Maniesh Paul’s Rafuchakkar.
Other titles were – Union: The Making of India, starring Kay Kay Menon and Ashutosh Rana, Doctors featuring Sharad Kelkar, The Magic of Shiri with Divyanka Tripathi and A Legal Affair starring Barkha Singh and Angad Bedi.
