Late filmmaker Yash Chopra’s wife, Pamela Chopra, passed away this morning (April 20) at the age of 74.
Pamela was last seen in the Netflix documentary, The Romantics.
According to reports, Pamela Chopra was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for the past 15 days due to age-related illness. Reportedly, she was put on ventilator but her health deteriorated.
The family issued a statement and revealed that she was cremated today at 11 am in Mumbai.
Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar took to Twitter and paid tribute to her. He wrote –
“Today Pam ji the better half of Shri Yash Chopra has passed away. She was a great lady . Intelligent, educated , warm and witty . Those who like me have worked closely with Yash ji know about her contribution in his scripts and music. She was an exceptional person.”
Pamela Chopra was a playback singer, film writer and producer in her own rights. She was the mother of YRF head-honcho Aditya Chopra and actor-producer Uday Chopra. Aditya is married to Rani Mukerji.
Uday, Sonu Nigam amongst others were seen exiting after attending the final rites.
