It was recently revealed that Alia Bhatt has joined the YRF Spy Universe.
She will be headlining their first female-led spy flick – which promises to be a high-budget, action spectacle.
Apparently, Aditya Chopra wants to break the stereotypical portrayal of female action heroines and will be featuring Alia Bhatt in a de-glam avatar, reports Bollywood Hungama.
“Alia will play a gender-free spy. She won’t be playing a gender-specific action heroine but a hero like Salman and SRK. Adi Chopra wants to break the stereotypical image of the female hero, ke agar heroine superhero hogi toh glamorous aur sexy hogi. Alia will play a makeup-free no-vanity superhero in a mission to save the world,” a source revealed.
No Cameos In 1st Film?
The film’s sole focus will be Alia it seems. To ensure no one steals her thunder, Chopra isn’t having the other YRF spy characters make cameos in the 1st film. They might appear in the later ones.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is busy promoting Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The YRF spy verse announcement will happen after RARKPK releases. Bhatt is making her Hollywood debut as well with Heart Of Stone.
