Nushrratt Bharuccha Akelli movie release date gets postponed.
The thriller drama was previously scheduled to hit theatres today, i.e., 18 August 2023!
Directed by Pranay Meshram, Akelli also stars Tsahi Halevi, Amir Boutrous and Nishant Dahiya in pivotal roles.
The film revolves around the story of an ordinary Indian girl Jyoti (Nushrratt) who gets trapped in war-torn Iraq. She arrives in Mosul for a job but when radical Islamic groups attack Iraq, she is captured along with other women. Jyoti must battle for her life.
Meanwhile, the makers have postponed the release date of Akelli to avoid a clash with Abhishek Bachchan’s Ghoomer.

The film will have a box office clash with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2.
For the unversed, Nushrratt Bharuchha played the leading lady in the 2019 blockbuster comedy flick, Dream Girl.
During a recent interview, Nushrratt opened up on being replaced by Ananya Panday in the sequel. Talking about it, she told ETimes –
“I was a part of Dream Girl 1 and I love that whole team. I terribly miss working with them. But why they didn’t cast me in Dream Girl 2, I think only they can answer. I don’t know, there is no logic and there is no answer to it. But why didn’t they cast me? I am a human being, so of course it hurts. And of course it feels unfair. But I get it, it is their decision. Cool, no problem.”
On the work front, Nushrratt has Chhorii 2 – a sequel to 2021 horror film Chhorii which is a remake of the 2017 Marathi movie Lapachhapi – lined up in her kitty. The sequel also stars Soha Ali Khan in a pivotal role.
