Vicky Kaushal & Manushi Chhillar have paired up for the upcoming family entertainer, The Great Indian Family. The much-awaited trailer was dropped today.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the movie also stars Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and Bhuvan Arora among others in important roles. TGIF is produced by Yash Raj Films.
Vicky plays the role of a renowned Bhajan singer named Ved Vyas Tripathi aka Bhajan Kumar who belongs to a Pandit family. Bhajan struggles to find love due to his profession but one day, he falls in love with a beautiful vibrant girl (played by Manushi).
Everything was hunky dory until one day, the family received an anonymous letter. The letter states that Bhajan Kumar actually belongs to a Muslim family.
Talking about his role in this movie, Vicky Kaushal said in a statement –
“I play a singing star named Bhajan Kumar in our quirky family entertainer The Great Indian Family and we decided to have some fun before we actually revealed the fact that I was playing this character in the film! As an actor, I love to bring smiles to the faces of people and I hope I was able to achieve it. So, now the cat’s out of the bag! I hope people love my new avatar in TGIF. I’m eager to see how Bhajan Kumar is received by audiences. I know I have poured my heart into bringing him to life on the big screen.”
