Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal‘s respective films clashed at the box office yesterday (1st December 2023).
The Sanju co-stars, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal locked horns at the box office as their much-awaited films – Animal and Sam Bahadur respectively – hit theatres on the same day.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Ranbir’s film is a gangster-drama that revolves around the story of a father-son relationship.
Meanwhile, Vicky’s movie is a biographical war drama which chronicles the 4-decade-long illustrious military career of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

Animal Vs Sam Bahadur Day 1 Collections:
The Ranbir Kapoor starrer has set the box office on fire. Animal has collected Rs 116 CRORES worldwide, becoming the biggest non-holiday opening in Hindi cinema ever.
As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the gangster-drama raked in Rs 54.75 CRORES in the Hindi belt. After Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan, RK’s film has become the 3rd highest opener in the history of Hindi cinema.

On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal-led Sam Bahadur opened to a decent collection at the box office. As reported by Taran Adarsh, the movie managed to collect Rs 6.25 CRORES on Friday.
He wrote, “#SamBahadur gathered momentum towards evening shows on Day 1… Biz needs to multiply on Sat-Sun for a respectable weekend total… Fri ₹ 6.25 cr. #India biz.”
Sam Bahadur witnessed a slow start compared to Animal.
