Shah Rukh Khan plays Hardy – a soldier who helps the gang reach England via illegal immigration.
SRK is also one of the producers of this movie. He has taken home 28 crores for his part in this comedy.
Taapsee Pannu:
Taapsee plays SRK’s love interest Manu – a small-town girl who wants to go abroad in search of a better life and get out of her troublesome mortgage.
Taapsee Pannu was allegedly paid 11 crores for this Rajkumar Hirani film.

Vicky had a special cameo as Sukhi, an earnest guy who wants to go to London to rescue his ex-girlfriend from her abusive husband.
Vicky Kaushal got 12 crores for his brief role.
Boman Irani:
Boman Irani took 15 crores for this movie. He played the role of Geetu Gulati – an eccentric professor providing IELTS coaching to aspiring students.
Anil Grover & Vikram Kochhar:
Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar who played Balli Kakkad and Buggu Lakhanpal respectively, have gotten paid in the range of 40-60 lakhs for their roles.
SRK Talks About The Meaning Of The Movie
While promoting the movie in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan explained the meaning of ‘Dunki‘ and said –
“Dunki is an illegal trip lot of people take to get out of their country across borders all over the world. It is called the Donkey travels. So, the film is about going out and finding a future for yourself but loving your home the most. So it’s about homecoming. So, you can stay anywhere in the world but you can rest only on the soil of your nation. So, that’s what the film is about.”
