Kriti Sanon’s Meena Kumari Biopic shelved?
Fashion designer-turned-filmmaker Manish Malhotra was supposed to direct the highly-anticipated biopic of the iconic yesteryear actress.

However, he has stepped away from this project! Speaking at International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Malhotra shared the update.

“I’m no longer doing the biopic. I’ll direct something else. Directing is one dream that remains unfulfilled. I have been impacted by Yash ji [Yash Chopra] and wish to direct romances one day,” Manish Malhotra commented.
Though he has exited from direction for now, Manish has other films in production such as Bun Tikki starring Zeenat Aman, Shabana Azmi and Ul Jalool Ishq with Fatima Sana Shaikh and Vijay Varma.
It remains to be seen if Kriti’s Meena Kumari biopic will see another director at the helm or be placed on the backburner entirely.
Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon has Housefull 5 in her upcoming line-up. She is also rumoured to be starring opposite Dhanush in Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein.
