Imtiaz Ali is set to bring another compelling love story to the screen, this time through a Netflix series produced under his banner, Window Seat Films.

While Imtiaz himself will not be directing, he will serve as the writer and showrunner, ensuring his signature storytelling style remains at the heart of the project. The series will be directed by his brother, Arif Ali.
The romantic drama, tentatively titled O Saathi Rey, boasts a stellar ensemble cast, featuring Aditi Rao Hydari, Arjun Rampal, and Avinash Tiwary in lead roles. Joining them is Mismatched star Ahsaas Channa. The project will go into production soon.

The series will explore the complexities of an extramarital affair. While official character details are yet to be confirmed, early reports suggest that Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari will play a married couple whose relationship is shaken when Avinash Tiwary’s character enters their lives.
This project marks Imtiaz Ali’s reunion with Avinash Tiwary after their critically acclaimed 2018 film, Laila Majnu.

While overseeing this Netflix project, Imtiaz Ali is also busy with two exciting directorial films. The first is a period love story starring Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, and Vedang Raina. The second, titled Idiots of Istanbul, features Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri in lead roles.
With multiple projects in the pipeline, 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for Imtiaz Ali and his unique brand of storytelling.
