Khufiya Date Announcement | Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi & Ali Fazal –
The release date of Khufiya starring Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ali Fazal was revealed recently. It will be arriving on Netflix on 5th October 2023.
Khufiya Announcement:
In the fun announcement video, her character can be examining a suspect on a CCTV camera. The person on screen appears to be Xeroxing something. When Tabu is unable to read the contents, she asks her partner to zoom in on the footage. And then a printout reveals the date – October 5.
About Khufiya:
Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Khufiya is based on Amar Bhushan’s espionage novel Escape to Nowhere. The movie allegedly revolves around the story of a RAW operative Krishna Mehra, who is tasked with a crucial mission of national importance that leaves her struggling between her dual identity as a spy and a lover.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “Krishna Mehra (Tabu) is an operative at the Research & Analysis Wing. She is assigned to track down the mole selling India’s defense secrets, while grappling with her dual identity as a spy and lover.”
Vishal Bhardwaj had previously revealed that he had changed the gender of the main character, just so Tabu could work on the film!
“I have changed the gender of the character for Tabu. I always find a reason to work with her. Khufiya is a really special project for me. The entire team has worked very hard to create a suspenseful, slow-burning thriller, and with Netflix, we are thrilled to present the film to audiences globally,” Bhardwaj commented.
For the unversed, Vishal Bhardwaj and her have previously worked together for Haider and Maqbool. She also featured in his son Aasman Bhardwaj’s debut directorial Kuttey.
